As part of its 3rd-year project of monitoring and documenting the status of public services in Sinjar, the Youth Bridge Organization launched the project “To promote transparency and accountability of local government departments” in Sinjar. This project follows another two projects funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) to follow up with the improvement of the status of the public services in Sinjar. The Youth Bridge Organization launched a pilot program intended to monitor and evaluate the performance of government departments of the Education, Municipality, Electricity, and Civil Status by surveying the population by conducting 1000 surveys in the field. The Youth Bridge monitors conducted weekly visits to the four institutions to document the delivery of services, any issues in efficiency, and potential cases of corruption. The monitoring team selected local citizens at random to interview their experiences with each of the targeted government offices. According to all the monitoring and evaluation reports that the monitoring team wrote, and the findings from the forms and dialogue sessions, the Youth Bridge Organization published an inclusive report on the status of the four departments of Education, Municipality, Electricity, and Civil status department.
