in 2022, Youth Bridge Organization conducted 3 workshops with community leaders about the “Right to Education” as an initiative to activate the role of the community leaders in Sinjar to encourage education and support the children to complete their education. These activities are withing the project “Involving Local Leaders and Youth in Combating GBV and Advocating for the Right to Education in Sinjar” funded by European Union and in partnership with UPP within “Tatweer” project. The three workshops main goal was to educate the community leaders about the importance of education for their children in Sinjar, and their role as community leaders in promoting education because after the genocide of 2014 and the war with the ISIS, so many children dropped out of school and joined armed groups while they are still under 18 years old. Of course, this habit will affect negatively on so many aspects of their life including not completing their education and lose their future.
As part of the Youth Bridge Organization goal to promote the awareness on the right of the children to education, it also led a social media campaign through producing videos and publishing them on social media pages to reach out to as many community members as possible and encourage children to continue their education.
