In 2022, as part of the project “Involving Local Leaders and Youth in Combating GBV and Advocating for the Right to Education in Sinjar” and within the Tatweer project funded by European Union and in partnership with UPP organization, the Youth Bridge Organization delivered 2 workshops, each on for two days with the community leaders as an approach taken to combat GBV in Sinjar. The role of the community leaders in a society like Sinjar is important when it comes to seeking changes because they have the influence on all the community, so working with them directly helps to spread the awareness on the negative consequences of GBV, and they can directly influence the whole community to reduce it as they are all tribal heads, and influential figures within the community. besides, GBV workshops with the community leaders, Youth Bridge Organizations also lead social media campaign through producing and publishing videos in the local language aiming to reach out to as many people as possible to combat GBV and reduce its negative consequences.
