The Sinjar Consortium for Local Organizations, as part of the “Promoting Stability and Empowering Youth in Sinjar” project, initiated a crucial social media campaign addressing the escalating issue of electronic extortion in the area.
Observing a concerning rise in electronic extortion, particularly among the youth, attributed to the misuse of social media platforms and a lack of awareness on their proper utilization, we took proactive measures. Collaborating with the Sinjar Community Police Department, the Sinjar Consortium disseminated informative videos across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X.com, as well as on diverse local media pages and channels. The objective is to empower the younger generation with knowledge on safeguarding themselves against electronic extortion.
