On August 27, 2022, the Youth Bridge Organization concluded- a two-day women’s discussion session on identifying the main needs of Yazidi women and the challenges they face in the post-ISIS era within the YB_BCDS project funded by the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). A group of Yazidi girls and female activists participated in the workshop.

As ISIS took over the Sinjar area, women were the first to be impacted by their attacks and were the first prey to be abducted and enslaved in the slavery market in Mosul and other areas controlled by them. Therefore, women are now in need of so much support from their community, families, and NGOs to be able to recover from the trauma they experienced, and they should be listened to and involved in all the decision-making processes in Sinjar.
