As part of the “Women’s Action for Peace” project, Youth Bridge Organization proudly participated in the final conference held in Rome to showcase the project’s achievements alongside all project partners including UPP and representatives from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This event served as a platform to reflect on the collective peacebuilding actions undertaken throughout the project and to underscore the critical importance of advancing the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda.

The conference highlighted the need for renewing Italy’s National Action Plan (NAP) on WPS, while also calling attention to the importance of activating the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda and developing a corresponding NAP. Discussions centered on addressing the gaps and challenges within these agendas and fostering greater alignment between national and international peace efforts.

The Youth Bridge Organization used this opportunity to shed light on the significant challenges facing both WPS and YPS agendas in Iraq. These challenges include limited funding, lack of capacity-building opportunities, and insufficient integration of youth and women into decision-making processes. In its presentation, the organization emphasized the urgent need for greater resources and sustained efforts to ensure the implementation of both NAPs.

By participating in this conference, the Youth Bridge Organization reaffirmed its commitment to advancing inclusive peacebuilding initiatives at both the national and international levels. The organization stressed the importance of fostering collaboration among governments, civil society, and international partners to build sustainable peace and empower women and youth to take on active roles in shaping their communities. The event served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to ensure justice, equality, and resilience for future generations through dedicated efforts in the WPS and YPS agendas.
