As part of the “Women’s Action for Peace” project, Youth Bridge Organization actively participated in an Advocacy and Peace-Building Week in Brussels, aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration on key issues within the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agendas and highlighted on the importance of combating violence extremism and hate speeches. The advocacy week included comprehensive meetings with European Union representatives and members of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO), providing a platform to discuss shared strategies and actionable solutions to advance peace efforts.
These meetings are a vital part of Youth Bridge Organization’s ongoing commitment to advocacy and human rights defense. By engaging with international stakeholders, the organization seeks to strengthen its role in protecting human rights and promoting sustainable peace within Iraq and beyond. The exchange of ideas during the Brussels meetings allowed Youth Bridge to build partnerships and connect with institutions and organizations that share a commitment to justice, equality, and coexistence.
The advocacy week also focused on aligning efforts to address challenges faced by minority communities in Iraq, including discrimination, hate speech, and exclusion, while highlighting the critical role of women and youth in peace-building processes. Through these discussions, Youth Bridge Organization emphasized the importance of inclusive approaches to achieving positive change and underscored the need for international solidarity to support local initiatives.
At the heart of our strategy lies the belief that advocacy is a powerful tool for creating meaningful progress in human rights and peacebuilding. We remain dedicated to expanding our advocacy work at both the local and international levels, working hand-in-hand with our partners to make a lasting and tangible impact in the communities we serve. By bridging local realities with global advocacy, Youth Bridge Organization continues to strive for a world where peace, justice, and equality are accessible to all.
