As part of the “Strengthening Community Resilience and Protection of Human Rights in Sinjar and West Nineveh” project, Youth Bridge Organization is offering a range of training courses for women at the Protection and Psychological Counseling Center in Sinjar and the Cultural and Community Center in Til-Qasab. These courses include literacy training based on the Iraqi Ministry of Education’s curriculum, knitting, and various handicraft workshops designed to empower women with practical and vocational skills.
In addition to fostering personal and professional growth, these courses provide a safe, welcoming space for women to connect, share experiences, and engage in meaningful activities outside their household routines. By breaking social isolation, the initiative supports participants’ mental health and well-being, creating a sense of community and solidarity among women in the targeted regions.
Moreover, the literacy training enables women to better navigate daily life and access opportunities for education and employment, while the knitting and handicraft courses equip them with marketable skills that can help them generate income and achieve economic independence. Through this initiative, the Youth Bridge Organization aims to empower women to play a more active role in their communities, contributing to resilience and sustainable development in Sinjar and West Nineveh.
