The Sinjar Consortium for Local Organizations organized a school running Marathon for 5 schools in Til-Azer Sub-district, as part of the “Promoting Community Stability and Empowering Youth in Sinjar” project. The event witnessed spirited engagement, with 50 students representing diverse genders and originating from five distinct schools.

The marathon’s core objective transcended the realm of physical competition; it sought to cultivate sportsmanship and foster meaningful social interactions among students in the Til-Azer sub-district after the return of life to the area recently. The tangible enthusiasm exhibited by both students and participating schools underscored the success of this endeavor, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

As the marathon unfolded, the spotlight shone on the top three performers, who were duly recognized and rewarded with well-deserved prizes. This acknowledgment stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work displayed by the students throughout the marathon. Our hope is that this recognition becomes a catalyst, inspiring these young individuals to actively engage in a myriad of sporting and social activities in the future.
