Education is a fundamental right for all citizens, irrespective of gender, and women in Sinjar have faced challenges in accessing it since childhood. Overcoming these barriers, they now strive for the opportunity to acquire the fundamental skills of reading and writing as part of their inherent rights. Recognizing the transformative power of education for women, the Sinjar Consortium for Local Organizations considers it imperative to empower them, enabling their active participation in the community.

As part of this commitment, ongoing literacy courses have been a focal point at the Sinjar Consortium’s ‘Empowerment and Inclusion Center’ since July 2023. These courses aim to provide women who are eager to learn with the basics of reading and writing, aligning with the Iraqi literacy curriculum. This initiative continues to support as many women as possible, fostering their journey to literacy and empowerment.
