As part of the project “Enhancing Stability in Conflict-Affected Communities in Iraq,” Youth Bridge Organization, in collaboration with Tahreer Foundation, conducted a vital workshop in the Qairawan Sub-district aimed at educating the local community on identifying early indicators of violent extremism and taking proactive action to address them. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to equip communities with the knowledge and tools needed to counter the rise of violent extremism, which has increasingly posed a significant threat to minority groups in Iraq.

The workshop brought together community leaders, youth, educators, and local stakeholders to raise awareness about the warning signs of radicalization and extremist behavior. Through interactive sessions, participants learned about strategies for early intervention, reporting mechanisms, and ways to foster a culture of inclusivity and resilience within their communities.

Given the increasing prevalence of violent extremism by various groups, the workshop also emphasized the importance of community-driven solutions and collaboration with local authorities to mitigate risks. Participants were encouraged to act as peace ambassadors within their communities, spreading awareness and advocating for unity and coexistence.

By addressing this critical issue, Youth Bridge Organization and Tahreer Foundation aim to empower vulnerable communities in Nineveh to resist the influence of extremist ideologies, protect minority groups, and contribute to the creation of a more cohesive and peaceful society. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to promoting stability, resilience, and long-term peace in conflict-affected regions of Iraq.
