In collaboration with the Municipality of Sinjar, cleanness ambassadors, community police, the Sinjar Consortium for Local Organizations, under the project “Promoting Community Stability and Empowering Youth in Sinjar,”recently executed a comprehensive cleanliness campaign in the heart of Sinjar city.
The primary objective of this campaign was to enhance the urban landscape of Sinjar and foster community awareness regarding the significance of maintaining a clean city. Furthermore, it aimed to strengthen communication and collaboration among various sectors of society and local service departments in Sinjar.
Over the course of two days, this initiative garnered remarkable participation from more than 140 volunteers from different areas of Sinjar. Participants spanned various age groups, reflecting a diverse and unified community engagement in this constructive social endeavor.
The campaign encompassed the cleaning of numerous areas within Sinjar, encompassing public thoroughfares and pathways leading to the revered shrine of Sayyida Zainab al-Sughra.
The Sinjar clean-up campaign stands as a testament to the robust spirit of community and the collaborative efforts of local institutions and the populace. It serves as a successful model illustrating how collective action can drive positive change, improving the environment, and nurturing both environmental and social consciousness within the community.
