As part of the “Strengthening Community Resilience and Protection of Human Rights in Sinjar and West Nineveh” project, Youth Bridge Organization is conducting a variety of training courses and awareness sessions aimed at empowering children and adolescents. These activities are held at the Protection and Psychological Counseling Center in Sinjar and the Cultural and Community Center in Til-Qasab, where child-friendly spaces have been established to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
The training programs include educational and entertainment activities designed to foster creativity and personal growth. Children and adolescents participate in drawing courses to enhance their artistic expression, computer and English literacy courses to build essential skills for the future, and digital safety awareness sessions to help them navigate the online world securely, as well as providing psycho-social support through multiple sessions on different topics that might affect negatively on children. These sessions not only equip young participants with practical knowledge but also promote critical thinking and digital responsibility.
By providing these opportunities, the community centers serve as safe spaces where children and adolescents can explore their interests, develop new skills, and prepare for challenges they may face in life. The centers also play a crucial role in helping them overcome the emotional and psychological impact of displacement and conflict, offering a sense of normalcy and belonging.
Additionally, the centers encourage peer interaction and teamwork, fostering social connections and strengthening bonds within the community. Through these activities, Youth Bridge Organization aims to empower the younger generation, enabling them to contribute positively to their families and communities while building a brighter, more resilient future for Sinjar and West Nineveh.
