The Youth Bridge Organization launched an open online application process and disseminate it to its network of community and professional contacts to identify the most suitable candidates for its volunteer teams. Youth Bridge selected 16 civic-minded young activists who exhibit leadership potential in their communities in Sinjar. After the selection process, Youth Bridge organized two three-day training workshops to expose new volunteers and trainees from last year to civic values, leadership skills, communication skills, advocacy techniques, monitoring, and documentation skills. Youth Bridge included trainees from last year to polish their skills and have them share experiences.

After the workshops, the Youth Bridge Organization contracted with three permanent monitors and mentor thirteen volunteers to monitor and document the state of public services and conducted security services in their communities. Youth Bridge and the volunteers continued to monitor the specific public services sectors of health and municipality and additionally monitor the electricity and justice. By the end of the project, the volunteer team identified the needs of the area and published 3 inclusive reports on the public services in the Sinjar area.
