Withing the Project “Rehabilitation of Shakaw Primary School”, the Youth Bridge Development Organization renovated and equipped the Shakaw School building completely after it was destroyed by the war with ISIS in 2014. The renovation and equpping process took 2 months to be fully completed and be ready for receiving the school students at the beginning of the new school year in Sinjar. About 324 students can now access education close to their homes and inside their village after they were walking for long distances to go to schools inside Sinjar center or surrounding villages. This project’s main goal is to support enhancing education in the liberated areas and ensure children access to basic education.
