Under the theme ‘Empowering Women and Youth in Advancing the Localization of UN Resolution 1325 for Sustainable Peace and Security,’ the Youth Bridge Development Organization, in collaboration with UPP and various local partners, launched a significant national event in Erbil during November. This event marked the culmination of the 2023 project, ‘Women Peacebuilders in Action.’

Drawing notable attention from the international community, the event saw active participation from esteemed representatives, including the Italian and Dutch Consuls, as well as numerous international and local NGOs committed to initiatives in Iraq. Activists dedicated to advancing the cause of UN Resolution 1325 were also in attendance.

The program featured two pivotal panels. The first, titled ‘Civil Society’s Role in WPS Agenda,’ provided a platform for project partners to showcase key achievements, outline challenges, identify gaps, and propose enhancements for the Italian National Action Plan. The second panel, ‘Women’s and Youth Engagement in the Localization of WPS Agenda,’ created a space for youth and activists to share their insights and experiences in spearheading the localization efforts of Resolution 1325 at the grassroots level.
