Overview of the Organization:

The Youth Bridge Development Organization (YBDO) established on August 15, 2015, as a local, independent, non-governmental organization registered in Erbil and Baghdad, Iraq. It aims to achieve community stability human rights protection, and promotion of sustainable development in post ware.

Position Overview:

The Psychologist at Youth Bridge Organization will be responsible for providing psychological support and counseling to individuals and groups in Sinjar. This role involves assessing mental health needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and working closely with other professionals to support the overall well-being of the community. The Psychologist will play a key role in promoting mental health awareness and resilience among the population.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Therapeutic Interventions:

Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to address mental health issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress.
Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to the specific needs of cases.

2. Program Development and Implementation:

Develop and implement mental health programs and workshops aimed at promoting mental health awareness and resilience within the community.
Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to identify mental health needs and create targeted interventions.

3. Coordination and Collaboration:

–  Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, and facilitators, to provide comprehensive care and support to cases.

Coordinate with local authorities, community organizations, and NGOs to enhance mental health services and resources.

4. Training and Capacity Building:

Provide training and capacity-building sessions for staff, community members, and volunteers on mental health awareness, psychological first aid, and coping strategies.
Facilitate workshops and seminars to educate the community about mental health issues and promote stigma reduction.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and confidential records of cases assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
Prepare regular reports on the status and progress of mental health programs and services for the Youth Bridge Organization and donor when its requested. 

6. Monitoring and Evaluation:

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychological interventions and programs, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Collect and analyze data related to mental health services to inform program development and decision-making.

7. Advocacy and Outreach:

Advocate for the mental health needs of the community, particularly vulnerable populations such as women, children, and survivors of violence.
Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about available mental health services and encourage community participation.

Qualifications:

A degree in Psychology or a related field.
Licensed or certified to practice as a psychologist.
Experience in providing psychological counseling and support, particularly in conflict-affected areas.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches in Sinjar.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in relevant languages (Arabic, Kurdish) and English language skills is preferred.
