Job Description: Project Coordinator

Job Overview:

The Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of various project activities in the Sinjar and Qairawan sub-districts. This role involves coordinating activities, managing project resources, ensuring timely and effective execution of project plans, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in achieving project goals and improving the community’s well-being.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Project Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation in collaboration with line manager.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring they align with project objectives and donor requirements with line manager.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion in collaboration with M&E staff.

 

  1. Team Coordination and Supervision:
  • Lead and manage project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation to the project team.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan future activities.

 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, forums, and other events.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure coordinated efforts.

 

 

  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and challenges to project implementation and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with line manager.
  • Monitor the external environment and adjust project plans as needed to address emerging issues.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, and correspondence to line manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, development studies, or a related field or experience of minimum 1 year in project coordination.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the local context in Sinjar and Qairawan sub-districts is an advantage.
  • Fluency in relevant languages (Arabic, Kurdish) and English language is a bonus

 

Working Conditions:

  • Based in Sinjar and Qairawan sub-districts, with frequent travel to project sites.
  • May require working outside of regular office hours to meet project deadlines or address urgent issues.
