Job Responsibilities for Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant in Sinjar and Qairawan Sub-district

Position Overview: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of M&E activities in Sinjar and Qairawan Sub-district. This role involves regular follow-up on project activities, systematic monitoring and evaluation of activities in line with the project goals, and ongoing reporting to the line manager. The M&E Assistant will ensure the timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to inform project implementation and enhance the overall effectiveness of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Activity Follow-Up:
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the implementation of project activities according to Youth Bridge policies.
    • Ensure that activities are carried out according to the project plan and within the set timelines.
    • Identify any issues or challenges in the implementation process and report them to the line manager.
    • Provide support to field teams to ensure that activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
  2. Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Develop and maintain M&E systems and tools with M&E manager, including data collection methods, databases, and reporting formats.
    • Collect, compile, and analyze data related to project activities and outcomes.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintain up-to-date databases.
    • Monitor project indicators and progress towards achieving project goals in collaboration with M&E manager.
    • Conduct surveys, assessments, and evaluations to measure the impact of project activities.
  3. Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit regular M&E reports to the line manager, including detailed analysis of project performance and recommendations for improvement.
    • Assist in the preparation of project reports.
    • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from project implementation.
    • Provide feedback to project teams on M&E findings to inform decision-making and improve project outcomes.
  4. Data Quality Assurance:
    • Implement data quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data in line with the Youth Bridge Organization policies.
    • Conduct regular data audits and verifications to maintain data integrity in collaboration with line manager.
    • Ensure that data collection processes comply with ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the Youth Bridge Organization.
  5. Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with other project staff and departments to ensure coordinated and integrated M&E efforts.
    • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on M&E activities and findings.
    • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate data collection and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field or experience in M&E.
  • Fluency in relevant languages (Arabic, Kurdish) and English language is a bonus
  • Knowledge of the local context in Sinjar and Qairawan sub-districts is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Have very good skills in using software programs
